News/Blog post from scaffolding template?
I was wondering if it was possible to generate blog/news posts in a Confluence space from a Scaffolding template?
I would basically like to use the news section of a specific Confluence space to track some system changes or outages. I'm envisioning something similar to how data would be entered in JIRA, but the end result would be a blog post based on the data entered in the template.
Has anybody done this before? Is it even possible?

Inappropriate?Hi Jamie,
I'm not quite sure if I understand your problem exactly, but "generating" this blog post by some kind of automatic means doesn't sound possible to me out of the box. Is each blog post supposed to signify some sort of daily change to your Scaffolding data?
Cheers,

Inappropriate?I'm sorry I wasn't more clear, but thank you for the reply.
Think of it a little like creating an issue in JIRA (drop-down menus, a few text fields, etc.) but with the end result being a formatted blog post. Nothing automated about it; just a Scaffolding front end for a new blog post that a user would fill out and submit.
I don't know if that type of thing is possible or where to start if it is, so I thought I'd consult the experts.
Any thoughts? -
Inappropriate?I don't believe Scaffolding markup works on blog posts - at least it isn't working in my instance!
You can request this as a new feature in a future release in our public JIRA - http://greenhouse.customware.net/jira....
Otherwise, I can think of two other options:
1. Put your Scaffolding template on a page and do an {include} in your blog post.
2. Put your Scaffolding template on a page, label the page appropriately and then use {content-by-label} macro or Reporting to pull the results in on another page instead of using the News section.
Hope something helps there.
Cheers,
Jen

Inappropriate? Thanks, Jen. I figured it was a long shot but had to ask anyhow. I'll see if I can find another way to do what I'd like to do.
I appreciate the help!
I’m thankful
