Jira <> Salesforce Sync'ing on Summary, Priority; Sync Not Working From Jira > Salesforce
1) It seems like Salesforce fields can only be mapped to Jira custom fields, and not Jira standard fields. Because of this, I can’t map the Salesforce Case “Subject” to the Jira Issue “Summary”. Since the Jira issue “Summary” field is a hard-coded required-entry field, we still have to fill it out in Jira, thus leaving us with a useless text field we cannot map from Salesforce. How do we resolve this problem?
2) For whatever reason, the only other field we cannot get to map is the Salesforce “Priority” field to our custom Jira field “Aster Support Priority”. I submitted a Jira issue from a Salesforce Case that had the “Priority” value set to 3, but after submission the Jira issue is showing the “Aster Support Priority” set to null. The values in both the Saleforce & Jira fields are identical (0,1,2,3,4,5), as documented here:
http://www.customware.net/repository/...
Any ideas why this field still won’t sync?
3) I updated Jira issue field values on an issue generated from SFDC, and then tried to use the “Sync to Jira” button in Salesforce to sync the Jira updates back into the SFDC Case. However, although I get a “success” message per this screen:
http://www.customware.net/repository/...
none of the field updates from Jira are reflected in the SFDC Case. I also checked that there’s a 1:1 mapping between fields in our Config per this screen:
http://www.customware.net/repository/...

Inappropriate?Hi Jalbino,
I am sorry that we missed out this question. I hope that its not too late to cover the questions that you post here.
Item 1. May I know how you replicate this problem as I cant. Is this during the initial creation of a JIRA issue from Salesforce?
Item 2: I was able to replicate this issue and raised a bug for this: http://greenhouse dot customware dot net/jira/browse/SFJIRA-54
Please feel free to comment on that issue.
Item 3: Can I confirm that you are moving data from Jira to SFDC?
then tried to use the “Sync to Jira” button in Salesforce to sync the Jira updates back into the SFDC Case.
Moving data from JIRA to SFDC requires that you setup the listeners while moving data from SFDC to JIRA requires that you setup S-Controls/Visualforce pages.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Cheers,
Timothy

Inappropriate?Hi Jalbino,
After investigating deeper, the right values to use in the priority field is the name of the Priority object. For example, "Blocker", "Major", etc.
Cheers. -
Inappropriate? To update the Issue Type field in JIRA, please make sure that the field in Salesforce.com is exactly the same as the name of the JIRA Issue Type object.
Cheers
