Customer Field Mapping Between Jira and Salesforce
I'm a little confused on the field syncing between Jira and salesforce. It looks like there are only a few fields that are mapped from Jira back to salesforce. I think I was under the impression that this release of the Jira/Salesforce plugin would allow for more field mapping, is that not the case? Thanks!

I have updated the documentation to incorporate how Priority and Status are mapped between JIRA and Salesforce.com.

Inappropriate?Hi Leah,
Which version are you using? We added a lot of new functionality in 3.0 you can see the system and custom field mappings here - http://www.customware.net/repository/...
Do let us know if you have any further questions.

Thanks Robert. We've set the mapping up, but my question is more around syncing: http://www.customware.net/repository/... I'm more interested in syncing a custom field from Jira to salesforce after the initial save. We had been working with Jennifer Cheung before this release and I thought that was going to be par of 3.0. Thanks! -

Inappropriate?Hi Leah,
Can you take a quick look at http://developer.atlassian.com/jira/b... Syncing from JIRA to SF needs to be expanded to include plain text fields. It seems to be the one for your question, assuming that your custom field type is plain text - is this case?

Inappropriate? Thanks Rob, that's exactly what we're looking for, thanks! Is this in your installation guide or documentation anywhere? Just curious so we can reference it.
Thanks again! -
Inappropriate?Hi Leah,
It's good to hear from you again. If your field is plain text then you should be able to map it as you normally would via the JIRA mapping configuration screen (see http://www.customware.net/repository/...), however I think I remember from our conversations that you would like to map the Status? The good news is that version 3.0+ supports syncing of some JIRA system fields to Salesforce and one of these is the Status field. There are only two things you need to do to get this working:
1. Ensure your Status options in JIRA are reflected in Salesforce Status
2. Map the JIRA Status to Salesforce Status in the mapping configuration in JIRA (the JIRA options list on that page has been updated to include the system fields - please see image).
The documentation hasn't been fully updated to reflect the system field syncing, but we will get on that asap.

Hope that helps!
Cheers,
Jen
