Cannot add or remove rows to a table with the scaffold macro
I'm running Confluence 3.0 and for some reason I cannot add or remove rows. I can see the red arrows and green plus marks, but when I click on them nothing happens. Anybody else have this problem? This is the case with Firefox 3, Chrome and IE
This is with a very simple example code:
{table-data:Editable Tab|initialrows=2}
|| Name || Value || Expires || | {text-data:Name} | {number-data:Value} | {date-data:Expires|format=dd-MMM-yyyy} | {table-data}
This is with a very simple example code:

|| Name || Value || Expires || | {text-data:Name} | {number-data:Value} | {date-data:Expires|format=dd-MMM-yyyy} | {table-data}

Inappropriate?Hi Javier,
Can you confirm that you are using the latest release of Confluence, specifically 3.1.3? Thanks. -
Inappropriate?Hmm.. I am pretty sure this is running on Confluence 3.0 I am confused though because if I got to the Confluence Release Summary the latest release is v3.0 ...
-
Inappropriate?Sorry, I meant the latest version of Scaffolding, which is 3.1.3. Confluence 3.0.0_01 is the latest of the application.
-
Inappropriate?I have the same problem. We're using Confluence 3.0.0_01 and Scaffolding plugin 3.1.2. Aha! Strange ... for whatever reason the plugin is not marked as old, so that I can upgrade it in the plugin repository. It displays "Unknown version" as status.
Ok, I'll update it manually and give you feedback as soon as possible.
I’m full of hope

Inappropriate?Hmmm... when I try to upload the jar via a URL (http://www.customware.net/repository/...) I get at 96% the following error message: "Type Error: exception is undefined".
Upload via local file doesn't work, too: "java.lang.NullPointerException at java.util.concurrent.ConcurrentHashMap.hash(ConcurrentHashMap.java:157)"
I’m sad
-
By the way: This is a known bug http://developer.atlassian.com/jira/b... - the upload facility is currently broken. -
Inappropriate?Hmm. Sounds a bit odd. Try the following, in order.
1. Uninstall the current Scaffolding Plugin from your server.
2. Shut down Confluence and restart it (with no Scaffolding installed)
3. Download version 3.1.3 to your local computer.
4. Make sure the file ends with '*.jar' not '*.zip' (IE has a known issue where it renames jar files)
5. Install 3.1.3 from your local download.
Hopefully that sorts out the installation issue. -
Inappropriate?Scaffolding won't delete scaffold-content when I uninstall it? Hopefully not :) Because we have a lot of scaffold-content ...
Ok, I'll give you feedback tomorrow. I can't restart confluence during working hours.
I’m hopeful

Inappropriate?Thank you David!! Please let me kiss you! - With plugin version 3.1.3 all my table-data fields are working :)
By the way: I don't know what issue I'm having with this strange Null Pointer Exception when I try to upload a .jar file (I don't use IE). I uninstalled the Scaffolding, restarted the apache and tried to upload the .jar, but the error still remains. But I was able to install 3.1.3 the normal way: via the plugin browser - yehaa! So I don't worry about the NPE - just happy that my tables are working. NPE can wait.
Thank you so much, you saved my day!
I’m soooo happy!!

Inappropriate?Hello,
I had the same problem, updated to 3.1.3 and now I can add new groups or table ros. But it is still impossible to delete a repeated group. When clicking on the red cross nothing happens.

I’m sad

I use Confluence 3.0.1. Mights this be the problem? -
Inappropriate?I'm not aware of any major changes from 3.0.0_01 and 3.0.1, so I suspect any issue is either general to all versions of Confluence 3, or is specific to your installation. I suspect it is the former - {repeating-data} has been a little bit dodgy for a while now. I'll be working on it soon, hopefully.
-
Inappropriate?Another strange issue: just the old tables (created with 3.1.2) are working fine. I still cannot remove or add rows with new tables ({table-data} created since I updated to 3.1.3).
Also the red cross in {repeating-data} loops doesn't work, the green plus works. -
Inappropriate?Sorry, the table part of my last post is not correct. Some of my tests are working and some not ... I have to investigate.
-
Inappropriate?Just an update - this has been fixed in Scaffolding 3.2.0.
-
I am still seeing the same problem, using Confluence 3.0.2 and Scaffolding 3.2.0... -
Are you using any custom themes? Sometimes they can interfere with the JavaScript used in Scaffolding. -
Hello David - thanks for getting in touch. No, I am not using any custom themes. -
Hi Ian,
Could you please create a bug report, have a look at your server log files (particularly 'catalina.out' and 'atlassian-confluence.log') to see if there are any Scaffolding-related errors? Thanks. -
David - disabling, uninstalling and reinstalling the Scaffolding macro seems to have fixed the problem (though I'm not sure why!). I should have tried this before commenting...thanks anyway for your help. -
Odd...maybe something got out of sync somewhere. Glad you got it sorted out.
